NBA Free Agency Rumors, Predictions 2014: LeBron James, Pau Gasol, and Carmelo Anthony
The first week of the free-agency period has already started and rumors are already spreading on where big names will land. Of the biggest names in free-agency, LeBron James, Pau Gasol, and Carmelo Anthony are already being scoped by various basketball agencies.
After four years and two championships with the Miami Heat, it is uncertain wheter LeBron James will return to the team, "While Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh were committed to returning to the Heat, LeBron James was unsure of what he would do, the sources said," Chris Broussard of ESPN had said.
While its still up in the air whether or not the basketball superstar will return to the franchise, what is know for sure, is that if he comes back, he won't be coming cheap. Other alternative sources predict that James will be returning to the Heat.
Meanwhile, Anthony has been pursued by multiple teams and he has already undergone several meetings with teams to discuss the terms of his signing. The Lakers already gave their proposal of a four-year contract for $95 million.
Anthony's team, the New York Knicks did not make the playoffs last season and it seemed to disappoint fans. Despite the disappointment, the Knicks still hold out that Anthony will still return and re-sign with them. Predictions share the same sentiment as the Knicks, with Anthony returning.
Finally, Gasol, an experienced veteran player is also at odds with the multitude of teams attempting to entice him. The Knicks especially have an eye on him, with plans to use the player to lure back Anthony, even though the team is confident that Carmelo will return.
Unfortunately, the Knicks aren't the only ones after Gasol. Predictions place Gasol in the hands of the Oklahoma City Thunders, adding the veteran to their young core players. If Gasol does manage to land in with the Thunders, OKC will definitely be a favorite in the Western Conference.
