NBA Christmas Day 2013 Jerseys Revealed from Adidas for Heat, Lakers, Bulls & More, See All Teams Holiday Looks Here (VIDEO)
Today (Nov 14), the NBA officially showed off their alternate Christmas Day jerseys made by Adidas for the teams playing.
The jerseys that will be worn for the Christmas Day quintuple-header revealed many distinct feature changes.
They will be short sleeve jerseys with solid-color "BIG Logo" over-sized team logo on the front. The player's number appears on the left sleeve rather then the chest. "Holiday-inspired" warm-ups and shirts will accompany the jerseys.
The Christmas Day line up is: Bulls at Nets (12 p.m. ET), Thunder at Knicks (2:30 p.m. ET), Heat at Lakers (5 p.m. ET), Rockets at Spurs (8 p.m. ET), and Clippers at Warriors (10:30 p.m. ET).
The NBA released a "Jingle Hoops" commercial staring LeBron James, Derrick Rose, Kevin Durant, Stephen Curry, James Harden and Steve Nash in their sleeved Christmas jerseys (watch below).
"We know fans want to wear the authentic product that the players are wearing," says Chris Grancio, head of global basketball sports marketing at Adidas. "In the NBA, it's just harder for fans to do that because a tank top is just a little bit more difficult to wear."
"A shirt with short sleeves can probably be worn a little bit more effectively than a shirt with no sleeves," says Sal LaRocca, executive vice president of global merchandising for the NBA.
Even for the teams not playing on Christmas Day, the special edition Christmas Day uniforms available for all 30 teams at NBAStore.com. Social media is building the hype using the hashtags #JingleHoops #NBAXmas.
