'NBA 2K17' Legend Edition Release Date, News Details: Special Edition Covers Kobe Bryant

Kobe Bryant played the last game of his legendary 20-year NBA career against the Utah Jazz Wednesday, April 13. The Black Mamba scored 60 points to close out his journey as a professional NBA player. To celebrate his illustrious career, 2k Games will have a special edition 2K17 Edition.

The special edition of the upcoming NBA 2K17 game will be called the "Legend Edition" and the 18-time NBA All-Star will be on its cover. This will be Kobe's 2nd time to be featured on the cover of the game. His first was on NBA 2K10.

"It's a great honor to partner with 2K on the NBA 2K17 Legend Edition," Bryant said according to GameSpot. "As I walk off the NBA court for the final time, it's exciting to know my fans can continue to celebrate my lifelong career as a Los Angeles Laker," he added.

Upon purchasing the special edition, fans will also get a limited edition Kobe Bryant poster, two Kobe Panini trading cards and also a Black Mamba game controller skin. Fans will also get digital content such as 30,000 Virtual Currency, MyTEAM Bundle + which includes three packs with guaranteed Kobe limited use card, Nike Kobe 11 retirement shoes, Kobe #8 Mitchell and Ness jersey and also a Kobe hoodie. For those who will purchase the game digitally, they will only be receiving the digital content bonus items.

The Legend Edition might be around $79.99 and will be release some time in fall season. The game will be available on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.
