NBA 2K15 Release Date, Update: Shaq Requesting Participation on Soundtrack with Freestyle Rap
In the world of gaming, there is always a title series for most sports fans. Football fans have FIFA, American football fans have Madden, and NBA fans have 'NBA 2K15'.
NBA 2K15 is 2K Games' release for the franchise this year, 2014, and it is nearing its launch date. Just recently, the company announced that Pharrell Williams will be curating the game's soundtrack. As per William's direction, the game's soundtrack will have a little mix of everything from rap, to alternative rock, to electronic music.
Former NBA player and Inside NBA Analyst Shaquille O'Neal has just recently asked Williams to feature him on the soundtrack with a few of his freestyle raps. It is still uncertain whether or not Shaq had intended this request as a joke or not, but most likely Williams will not settle for it.
When being asked how he chooses the game's music, he says, "I tried to pick an alternative approach, because how do you follow up LeBron and Jay? I gotta take a different route. When we finished looking at the list, it felt right."
With Pharrell holding the reigns as to what tracks will make it to the soundtrack, fans are certain that the game will have an amazing list that will compliment the gameplay.
While 2K Games is busy making the final tweaks and fixes to the game, fans have been discussing, in a Reddit thread, the things that they want to see in the game. NBA 2K14's drop-in game ability would be a welcome sight to the new game, but fans felt that The Park game mode would be better if it saw an overhaul or total removal.
User Wisdomofjah says, "the drop-in ability but be like 5v5 but you use your created character to drop in and play and level up that way as well. People wouldn't be ball hogs because you start as a scrub and you have to level up so you couldn't really be an offensive force till you put in time."
The game will be seeing a release on October 7 on the PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One.
