NBA 2K15 Release Date News: PS4 and Xbox One Cover Is Kevin Durant

After Kevin Durant won his first Most Valuable Player award yesterday, he is now replacing his good friend Lebron James as the new cover athlete for the upcoming "NBA 2K15" game.

"It's something that I've been longing for a while," said Durant in a conference call revealing that he is the new NBA hero who will star on the game cover. "I'm just grateful for the opportunity."

Revealing that it was truly a dream come true for the Thunder superstar: "I begged them to put me on the cover," said Durant at the conference call. "I really think nobody plays the game as much as I do. I wanted to be a part of it."

Durant also revealed which game mode he loves in the upcoming basketball game simulator.

"I enjoy playing the myPlayer mode. Taking your guy through a season, getting drafted...I feel that's how it is as a real NBA player. It's about the journey."

Durant also made a shocking gaming revelation about whether or not he plays as himself and the rest of the Oklahoma City Thunder squad when he plays NBA videogames.

"I never play with our team for some reason," said Durant. "In my house you have to pick a random team and just play. That's how we see how good you are."

So far, Durant has only made one NBA Finals appearance back in 2012, where his team lost to Lebron James, Dwayne Wade, Chris Bosh and the rest of the Miami Heat in five games that year.

Durant is looking for the first championship of his NBA career and the franchise's first championship since 1979 when the team was formerly known as Seattle SuperSonics.
