'NBA 2K15' PC Pre-Release Download: Pre-Load of Game Before Oct. 7 Launch Date Offered by Steam

A developer of the upcoming 2K Games title, 'NBA 2K15', has announced that the game will be available for download starting Oct. 3 on Steam for the PC. However, the game will not be playable until its release date on Oct. 7 for PC, PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360.

The developer who announced the news, Ronnie2K, posted the message as a Steam discussion, late on Oct 1. The post reads, "Hey guys, Pre-load should be set up for you at some point TOMORROW so you can download the game before being able to play it [Oct. 7] Tuesday! Awesome, spread the word!"

Gamers looking to download the game, and have it ready by the time it launches, should purchase the title through the Steam client. Apparently, if the game is bought by other online outlets, the gamer is not guaranteed the pre-load.

An eager 'NBA 2K15' gamer already bought a copy from GMG, but was met with disappointment when he or she asked them about the pre-load.

A stock answer was forwarded to the gamer, which reads, "For pre-purchase games, you will not receive a key immediately at the point of pre-purchase, rather you will receive the key on the day of release (or a day or two beforehand dependant on the game publisher)."

Adding, "We cannot guarantee that you'll be able to preload; however, we are in constant talks with the publisher to ensure keys are released as early as possible."

Again, since Ronnie2K posted the pre-download message over Steam, it's safe to say that buying it through Steam is the best way to ensure a pre-loaded copy is ready to go on October 7.

According to the required specs to run and support 'NBA 2K15', gamers are going to need at least 50 GB of space. Evidently, that's a pretty big sized file, so pre-loading the game is a wise decision.

'NBA 2K15' cost $59.99 and comes with added bonuses if pre-purchased. Players who obtain the bonus pack will get 5,000 Virtual Currency, a Kevin Durant Throwback MyTEAM Card, two MyTEAM Card Packs, and MyPLAYER Leg Sleeves (Inspired by Kevin Durant).
