'Nashville' Season 2 Midseason Finale Spoilers: Do Peggy and Will Die in "Tomorrow Never Comes?"

Nashville Season 2 spoilers! If you haven't seen Wednesday night's midseason finale, read at your own risk.

Even though spoilers for "Tomorrow Never Comes" promised a major death in the world of Nashville, the conclusion hardly delivered. Who actually died? Last we saw the mayor was the victim of an unsuccessful assassination attempt. In the brief tussle with the gunman, the mayor's new wife Peggy was shot to the ground.

In the teaser clip for the second half of season 2, it looks like Peggy is still alive but in critical condition. So we know she doesn't die just yet.

More importantly, who would want Teddy dead? Is the shooter a hired hitman out to get Lamar's revenge? Little does Lamar know it was his daughter Tandy who put him behind bars.

And what about Will? Conflicted with an ambitious dream to be the world's next great country star and a desire to stop hiding his sexuality, the younger singer is pushed to the edge. Last look at Will he's standing, shaking on a railroad track staring down a speeding train.

By the time the episodes pick back up next year it looks like Mr. Lexington is still missing. Apparently no one has seen him since the day of Music City Festival.

A failed assassination and possible suicide? Only in Nashville.
