According to the trailer promo for tonight's episode, death is at the doorstep for a major character on ABC's southern soap Nashville. Having suffered a major heart attack and now in jail, Lamar Wyatt seems like an obvious choice to get written off. In the wake of a botched miscarriage Peggy also seems like a vulnerable candidate. Either way someone on the Nashville Season 2 cast is going to be less fortunate than Deacon and Rayna [from the Season 1 finale].

According to the official synopsis for tonight's episode, viewers can expect a few storylines to develop.

- While Maddie continues to pursue a relationship with her biological father, Deacon, Rayna will struggle figuring out a way to split "father/daughter time" between him and her ex-husband Teddy. Expect a confrontation between the two.

- Death alert: Rayna's dad Lamar will try to secure Tandy as a witness in his court case. Don't expect the judge to take it easy on the fraudulent business owner.

- Charlie Wentworth makes it official: he loves Juliette Barnes! Never in the right place for a genuine human interaction, Juliette is far too busy keeping an eye on Layla's blossoming career.

- When Zoey and Avery try to cheer up Scarlett by visiting her on the road, the blonde songstress finds out about Gunnar's relationship with her best friend behind her back. Don't expect the friendly reunion to last long.

Nashville Season 2 Episode 9 "I'm Tired of Pretending" airs Wednesday at 10/9c on ABC.
