'Narcos' Season 2 Release Date, Spoilers: Upcoming Season Premieres in December, To Depict Escobar's Death

The first teaser trailer for the second season of "Narcos" reveals some clues about the new episodes of the series.

The clip dismissed rumors that the release of "Narcos" season 2 will be delayed, as it revealed that the series will premiere in September 2.

The opening of the teaser shows actor Wagner Moura headed for the camera. As he passes through the light, the clip shows "December 1, 1949," the date of birth of Escobar. After a few seconds, the screen shows "December 2, 1993," the date of his death.

Fans who have seen the teaser believe that the dates imply that the next season of "Narcos" will depict the death of Pablo Escobar. On December 2, 1993, Escobar tried to flee from the FBI agents and local police who were chasing after him. When they were about to close in on his location and Escobar realized there was no way out, he killed himself. His death showed very clearly that he would rather prefer to die than be put behind bars.

Season 2 focusing on the death of Escobar is highly likely, considering that season 1 ended with the drug lord's arrest. Viewers of the series expect that the upcoming season will explore how Escobar escaped prison and moved forward with his drug empire until his death.

As shown in the trailer, "Narcos" season 2 will be out by September 2. Netflix will release all 10 episodes simultaneously to allow viewers to watch the show uninterruptedly, unlike other cable networks that release episodes week after week.
