'Mr. Robot' Season 2 Spoilers, Release Date: Tyrell Wellick Could Be Major Character, Showrunner Promises Fire
"Mr. Robot" Season 2 is gearing up for airing in USA Network and series creator Sam Esmail guarantees that the upcoming run will answer the alluring puzzle left by the previous season and the story will pick up exactly from where it left.
Esmail likened season two to Rome burning. He also told The Hollywood Reporter that the story will go a little more horrid from the first season.
"What would happen to society...if the consumer-debt industry were to be erased?" Esmail mused. "To me, that canvas was something I was interested in exploring, so, for me, that's what that last scene sets up. We're about to watch Rome burn. That's the world Elliot's going to enter next season."
"Mr. Robot's" highly successful first season concluded with a huge cliffhanger which kept us up all night asking questions on the fate of Tyrell Wellick (Martin Wallstrom).
Season 1 ended with Elliot Anderson (Rami Malek) gaining consciousness in the car of the former E-corp executive.
Elliot finds himself completely alone and with no recollection of the past few days. It was later when he found out that he and Tyrell were successful on their Fsociety mission to hack and erase a major debt.
Elliot realizes Tyrell's absence and wonders where his friend went.
Showrunner Esmail spoke of the first season being a canvass for the future storylines and it's just the beginning of Elliot's journey.
Meanwhile, fans in waiting have made up theories which include Tyrell being the masked man in Fsociety's video which surfaced after hack.
If the case is such, Tyrell could be a major player in the upcoming season. Despite his loyal attributes, his violent tendencies and deteriorating psyche prevents him from being Elliot's trusted alley.
If so, he figures to play a key role in season two. Unfortunately, his violent tendencies and deteriorating psyche will make it difficult for him to become Elliot's full-time ally.
"Mr. Robot" resumes in spring or summer in USA Network.
