Hugh Jackman Leads an All-Star Cast in new Thriller "Prisoners"

Best known for his role of Wolverine in the X-Men movies and two stand-alone features "Wolverine: Origins" and "The Wolverine" Jackman plays the part of a distraught father (Keller Dover) whose daughter, Anna and a friend, Joy go missing.

The only lead for Detective Loki (Jake Gyllenhaal) is a falling to pieces RV that had earlier been parked on their street. Heading the investigation, Loki (Gyllenhaal) arrests its driver, Alex Jones (Dano), but a lack of evidence forces the suspect's release. As the police follow multiple leads and tension increases, knowing his child's life is at stake the frantic Dover decides he has no choice but to take matters into his own hands.

Gyllenhaal plays a role similar to his part in "Zodiac" the movie based on the true story of the serial killer named "Zodiac".

Terrence Howard, most recently in "Lee Daniel's The Butler" plays the father of the other missing girl and tries to put the brakes on Jackman's descent into anxiety and dread.

Oscar-winner Melissa Leo and actresses Viola Davis and Maria Bello play the distraught women of this morality play.

The script, by writer Aaron Guzikowski, who penned the Mark Wahlberg smuggling movie "Contrband" takes audiences down many different paths and emotional rides and Jackman's performance will have you rooting for his quest for answers even though his methods are unorthodox and exceedingly illegal.
The film features realistic characters and situations that tug at the heartstrings. While not recommended for children, this timely drama exploring the nature of violence and terror could produce even more accolades come Oscar time.
