Many expected that Motorola would release the Moto X2 at the recently concluded two-day Google I/O Developers' Conference in San Francisco, but alas, it was not.
Earlier this year, German mobile blog MobiFlip also spotted the device on MotoMaker and managed to capture a screenshot of the handset before the company removed the listing.
A report from the Q&A session at the 2014 Mobile World Congress concluded that Motorola is planning to release the Moto X2 sometime in the Summer of 2014. The report claimed that the upcoming Moto X version will arrive in "late Summer."
It further stated that the company is also planning to expand its current smartphones' availability as well as provide a MotoMaker tool for its customers. In fact, Motorola plans to make it available in Europe and Mexico. Furthermore, Motorola has plans to continue with Android as its basic operating system.
According to this report, the company plans to release the original Moto X in India and Australia in the upcoming few weeks.
Although the specs of the original Moto X, launched in August 2013, failed to win recommendations from critics, it was welcomed by tech enthusiasts.
