Moto X 2015 Specs & Release Date News: Leaks Suggest New Defvice is on Par with LG G4 & Samsung S6 [VIDEO]

Despite the efforts of Motorola, which has acquired Lenovo, to try its best to keep all details regarding its upcoming flagship smartphone a secret, a recent online leak has revealed some vital information about the Moto X 2015.

The leaked image, published by GSM Arena, reveals that the upcoming Moto X 2015, which has been code named XT1542, will come with a 5.2-inch 4K Quad HD AMOLED display rendering a 1,440 x 2,560 pixel native resolution. In other words, the upcoming flagship smartphone of Motorola will be comparable to the LG G4 and Samsung Galaxy S6 - the flagship smartphones of the South Korean tech titans LG Electronics and Samsung respectively.

According to Latin Post, it is expected that the Moto X 2015 will run on the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop, feature a 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 mobile chipset paired with 4 GB of RAM. GSM Arena adds that the device will either have a 32 GB or 64 GB memory storage.

In the meantime, another leak from Total Tech reveals that the Moto X 2015 will boast stereo speakers and a Type C USB port.

As far as the cameras of the device are concerned, Moto X 2015 will sport a 16-megapixel main snapper with a built-in OIS or optical image stabilization and clear pixel technology on its back, in addition to a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. The device is likely to be powered by a 3,280 mAh battery.

Meanwhile Know Your Mobile reports that all the rumored specifications mentioned above make the upcoming Motorola Moto X 2015 a device to watch out for, as the company has obviously applied some internal changes, ensuring their position as a credible competitor in the tech market.

However, the company is yet to announce the official release date of the device. Nevertheless, as the leaked image seemed to have come from a test unit, it is understood that the Moto X 2015 is currently in its development stages. It is expected that Motorola may possibly unveil the Moto X 2015 in September this year, corresponding the same time as release of the company's previous model last year.
