Moto X 2015 Release Update: Leaked Images Reveal Front-Facing LED Flash
Motorola has announced that it would be unveiling two new smartphones on July 28. One of them is a mid-range device dubbed as Moto G 2015, while the second is the premium Moto X 2015 - both devices are among the most anticipated smartphones of 2015. A new report from Peru claims that a number of images of the third-generation Moto X 2015 have emerged on the Internet offering key details of the upcoming device.
Quoting the report in Peru Android, IB Times states that different from other smartphones in the Moto X series, the upcoming Moto X 2015 will supposedly feature a frontal LED flash to capture killer selfies. Apparently Motorola is trying to take advantage of on the selfie trend with the improvised front-facing camera unit. In addition, one of the leaked images shows the back of the handset, where the rear-facing camera unit is positioned next to a dual LED flash.
In terms of the key specifications of the Moto X 2015, the handset will supposedly come with a large 5.7-inch display. Phone Arena, however, reports that fans can also expect a relatively smaller model packed with 5.2-inch display from Motorola. In spite of the dissimilar screen size, both variations of Moto X 2015 will supposedly sport a QHD screen resolution of 1,440 x 2,560 pixels.
As far as the hardware components of the device are concerned, a different report in Phone Arena says that earlier rumors hinted that the Moto X 2015 will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 chipset. However, now it seems that the device will pack Qualcomm's Snapdragon 810. Moreover, it is reported that Verizon will be exclusively marketing the 5.7-inch model of Moto X.
The Moto X 2014 will boast a 16-megapixel rear-facing camera unit, besides a 5-megapixel front-facing snapper for selfies as well as video chats. In terms of the device's software, the Moto X 2015 will run on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OS upon launch. In addition, the device will house a massive 3,280 mAh battery unit. However, it is worth mentioning here that Motorola is yet to confirm the Moto X 2015 specifications or features.
Meanwhile, as the release date of Moto G 2015 and Moto X 2014 draws close, it is expected that the company will offer huge price cuts on its current-generation Moto X or Moto X 2014.
