'Mortal Kombat X' Release Date: 10th Edition May Launch 2017 with New Characters, New Fighting Styles
Nether Realm Studios has confirmed that they are currently working on the 10th edition of the fighting game franchise 'Mortal Kombat'. The title stands a chance to be released sometime in 2015 as 'Mortal Kombat X'. The new game is expected to have some new characters mixed with some familiar faces, and will be released for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Microsoft Windows PC.
Meanwhile, the series creator Ed Boon has been regularly tweeting riddles that suggest that the upcoming game will be titled 'Mortal Kombat X'.
As far as the characters of the new game are concerned, fans can expect Raiden to make a comeback. Raiden is the main protagonist of the franchise, who has been seen in a variety of forms - a Storm Lord, a Thunder Lord, and even the Displacer Raiden, who possesses the ability to teleport. In fact, players have found this to be an extremely helpful skill for use in combat over the various editions of the game.
Nether Realm Studios has also announced that a number of new characters will be introduced in 'Mortal Kombat X'. These characters include Cassie Cage, daughter of Johnny Cage and Sonya Blade; D'Vorah, an insect controller; Torr & Ferr, a pair of masked giant brutes, and an armored dwarf. In addition, fans will see Kotal Kahn, a character inspired from Aztec. Also, the regular characters Scorpion and Sub-Zero will feature in the new game.
Besides the come back characters and new characters, 'Mortal Kombat X' is also expected to include a latest combat style wherein each characters comes with three diverse fighting styles which are interchangeable.
The different combat styles of the various characters allow players to change up their strategies without having to learn additional button combos. This is similar to other fight game move and skill schemes like that of 'Street Fighter' or 'Tekken'.
Going back to the Nether Realm Studios, the developers are currently concentrating on the new version of the game that will feature 1080p screen resolution and brutal fatality moves never seen before.
