'Mortal Kombat 10' Release Date: PS4, Xbox One Version Character List To Be Released at Games Com
In latest 'Mortal Kombat X' news, longtime series creator Ed Boon hinted that more information regarding the popular videogame franchise will be revealed at the upcoming Gamescom event in a few weeks.
"I won't play GAMES or try to COMpete with you," wrote Boon on Twitter on July 30.
Boon's Twitter post was a response to a previous question that was asked by a gamer on the popular social media network:
"When will we find out something new about MKX? Its been a while and no hints =(," tweeted MK_BigD on Wednesday.
So far, out of the seven characters that have been confirmed to appear in the future game, only three of them are classic fan-favorite characters such as Raiden, Scorpion and his longtime nemesis Sub-Zero.
In addition, the new characters that have recently been announced to join the series are Cassie Cage (the daughter of MK original characters Johnny Cage and Sonja Blade), Kotal Kahn, D'Vorah, and the giant ogre named Ferra (who carries a short woman named Torr on his back).
Boon recently revealed that there will be guest characters from other popular pop culture genres, similar to the previous 'MK' game that was released three years ago.
"Freddy Krueger was the most downloaded character in 'Mortal Kombat 9,'" said Boon to Polygon when he attended the Evo 2014 Championship Series event, "Scorpion was the guest character in 'Injustice', and he was the most downloaded character in that game. It's working out for us, and I'd be surprised if we ignored those numbers."
The upcoming Gamescon event will take place in Cologne, Germany from August 13 to April 17.
'Mortal Kombat X' will arrive in stores for the Xbox One, PS4, X360, PS3 and the PC in 2015.
