MLB Trade Rumors: Cliff Lee and Matt Kemp Unlikely to Face Trading Block

The English Premier League and the NBA aren't the only ones busy with trading and with purchasing players, Major League Baseball is also bustling about with trade rumors. Like with most rumors, some don't come true and are often false, and it is advisable to take rumors in with a grain of salt.

Just Tuesday, the San Diego Padres traded off third baseman Chase Headley to the New York Yankees. With the trade deadlines looming on the horizon, most teams would hurry and finish any transactions they are planning. However, it will be unlikely that this will be the last of the transactions to be made.

Rumors of Cliff Lee being traded is going around. This will be a difficult situation for him, as he has suffered a left elbow injury during his last game against the San Francisco Giants. A few teams are looking to trade him in, including the Baltimore Orioles, the Los Angeles Angels, and the Toronto Blue Jays.

Lee's value however, is low at the moment because of his age and the limited no-trade clause he is in. The player is currently 35-years old with $25 million coming to him by the end of 2015. Most likely, his trade will be a no-deal.

One other player is Los Angeles Dodgers Matt Kemp who is rumored to face the trading block.

However, much like Lee, his trade possibility is quite low because of his price tag and constant injuries. Kemp currently costs $107 million to trade and is significantly younger than Lee, at only 29-years old.
