MLB: Brewers VS Pirates / Francisco Liriano on the Mound for the Pirates, Hiram Burgos Starts Brewers

MLB update: Brewers vs. Pirates.

The Milwaukee Brewers didn't hope to get off to a 16-22 start to the 2013 season. Coming off another loss, the Brewers will look to rebound strong against the Pittsburgh Pirates, and hopefully gain some momentum moving forward.

The Pirates (23-17) beat the Brewers yesterday 3-1, and will look for Francisco Liriano (1-0, 1.69 ERA) to have a good night pitching from the mound. A win tonight would win the series, and generate a lot of confidence in the clubhouse.

Not so fast. The Brewers are penciling Hiram Burgos (6.86 ERA) in as starting pitcher against the Pirates. The Brewers starting rotation has been the team's downfall, posting a 6.59 group ERA. The team is 2-11 in May.
