MLB All-Star Game 2014 Live Stream Free: How to Watch National League vs American League in Derek Jeter Final All-Star Appearance Online (TV Start Time) (VIDEO)
The American League squad will battle the National League team tonight at Target Field in Minnesota in Derek Jeter's last All-star game appearance.
The game will start at 8:00 p.m. ET and can be watched online through live stream via the link provided below (free for subscribers).
Tonight's All-Star game will feature AL starter (from the Seattle Mariners) "King" Felix Hernandez (11-2, 2.12 ERA) opposing NL pitcher Adam Wainwright of the St. Louis Cardinals (12-4 with a 1.83 ERA) in the match-up to determine which team gets home field advantage in the upcoming World Series in October.
However, people will be mostly focusing on what the Yankee captain will do in his 16th and final appearance at the game.
"I don't know what tomorrow's going to be like," said Jeter to reporters on July 14, "I'm coming here, playing in the All-Star Game and trying to win for our league, because someone in this room is going to benefit. I don't go into things with expectations. I'm looking forward to playing the game and I've pretty much stopped right there. I think I've been pretty good at tempering my emotions over the course of my career."
Previously, Jeter became the first player in MLB history to ever win the All-Star Game MVP and World Series MVP Awards in the same season, when his team defeated their crosstown rival the New York Mets in the 2000 World Series in five games.
Jeter is expected to get a great reception from fans and players on both opposing dugouts.
"It's a rare and unique opportunity," said Boston Red Sox and AL manager John Farrell to ESPN in an interview, "At the same time we are able to celebrate a player who is not only a champion, but a guy that sets the bar that I think all players should aspire to. The way he has handled himself with class, with performance -- no doubt a Hall of Famer."
The AL starting lineup will be the following: Derek Jeter SS, Mike Trout LF, Robinson Cano 2B, Miguel Cabrera 1B, Jose Bautista RF, Nelson Cruz DH, Adam Jones CF, Josh Donaldson 3B, and Salvador Perez C.
The NL batting order will be the following: Andrew McCutchen CF, Yasiel Puig RF, Troy Tulowitzki SS, Paul Goldschmidt 1B, Giancarlo Stanton DH, Aramis Ramirez 3B, Chase Utley 2B, Jonathan Lucroy C, and Carlos Gomez LF.
