MLB 14 The Show PS4 Release Date on May 6; Will be Compatible with PS3 and PS Vita (TRAILER)

MLB 14 The Show for the PS4 will be launching a little late for the start of baseball this year when it releases on May 6.

"The official PS4 release date has arrived! Get your hands on MLB 14 The Show for the PS4 on May 6. For more details and pre-order info go to: www.baseballisbetter.com #BASEBALLisBETTER #WelcomeToTheShow" said a post on the game's Facebook.

However, its PS3 and PS Vita counterparts will be arriving just in time on April 1, according to a Sony announcement.

Polygon reported that all three versions of the game will feature "parity" with one another, which was one of the reasons why the next-gen version is taking a bit longer to come out. Developer, Sony San Diego is also aiming to have the game run in 1080p 60fps on the PS4.

For the first time, gamers will be able to transfer their franchise modes over into a new game, and there will laos be an online franchise mode as well.

San Diego came up with ways to shorten the duration of games as the average ran about 90 minutes. "One of the biggest complaints that we hear is that it takes too long to play a game," Ramone Russell, the game's community manager said.

"We've totally redone presentations," Russell said. "If no one's talking and nothing's going on, we cut right back to gameplay."

"The highest rated sports franchise over the last 8 years is back and better than ever. With over 40 new gameplay features and enhancements, MLB 14 on the PS3 captures the excitement of baseball like never before," the trailer's description reads.
