Missing Plane Found? Latest News Claiming Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 Being Found by Sailor is Hoax

Recently, a viral post on Facebook got the attention of thousands online after it claimed that the missing Malaysia Airlines Flight MH 370 had been found by a sailor. The post has now been identified as false information; the creators of the fake post wanted to draw visitors to their site to complete a few bogus surveys.

In most cases, the Facebookers were fooled by an adjoined video with the post. The video has also been found to be a part of the viral marketing scam spread over the social networking site by some greedy marketers.

The circulated video was entitled, 'Newest Video: Malaysian Air Flight MH370 Found by Sailor Moments Ago' with a sub heading, 'Mystery is solved - sailor rewarded $5 million on spot.'

The photo accompanying the post shows a partially submerged airplane. To view the entire video, you will first need to share it with your friends. Even after you share the video to all of your friends, you will be tunneled into a never ending stream of marketing surveys. No matter how many surveys you complete, you will never get to watch the video, primarily because it does not exist.

The image used to lure the visitors into the scam marketing sites was that of an US Airways Flight 1549 that had crashed into the Hudson River in New York in the January of 2009, piloted by Captain Sully. Some Facebook users were also lured into subscribing to expensive text messaging services.

The Malaysia Airlines Flight disappeared with 239 passengers on March 8. The plane is still being searched for in the Southern Indian Ocean, by the Australian and Malaysian crew.
