Minecraft PS4, Xbox One Release Date: Delay Puts Date Back to Late September 2014 Due to Bug Fixes

The developers of Minecraft had previously given some exciting news to fans hoping to get their hands on the game. According to earlier reports, Minecraft would be available on the Xbox One and PS4 with an August 2014 release date. However it now appears as though fans will have to wait even longer, as makers are dealing with various bug fixes which are delaying the launch of the eagerly awaited game.

"We can see the light at the end of the tunnel! #MinecraftXbox1 #MinecraftPS4 #MinecraftPSVita," 4J studios originally told players via Twitter.

However, 4J Studios recently took to their social media to make a statement indicating the delay:

"We're still fixing #MinecraftXbox1, #MinecraftPS4 and #MinecraftPSVita bugs. We'll let you know when we hand over to the Cert testing teams!" they stated.

New rumors are now circulating claiming that the game will not be released until late in September, leaving fans more than a month more than they had originally hoped.

However, the wait may be worth it as there have been numerous reports about the new features the game would bring.

Reports had stated that the game would provide some exciting features such as the ability to allow 8-players to explore together. Other spoilers about the game have said that the world will be 36 times larger than what players are used to from previous releases.

The 'Xbox One Edition' will be released on Xbox Live Marketplace where players can upgrade from previous versions for a minimum of one year upon its release.

According to reports, the "Xbox 360 Edition" saves will be able to import their worlds to the Xbox One.

Unfortunately, users will not be able to transfer saves from Xbox One to Xbox 360.

"Users can make worlds bigger without too much stress, but shrinking them causes all kinds of problems," they announced to press.

On the same note, for Minecraft on PS3 plus PS Vita, it will be available on the PSN in August as well. It will include all the features from the most recent PS3 version, including online play on Vita. It was said to be a cross-buy as everyone who bought Minecraft on PS3 Edition from PSN will get it on Vita for free.

According to the company, "We are working closely with Sony Computer Entertainment to look into ways to enable upgrade from the Blu-ray disc version of Minecraft: Playstation 3 Edition to Minecraft: Playstation 3 and Vita. We'll have more info on this closer to release."
