Minecraft PS4, Xbox One, PS Vita Release Date to Arrive August 2014

Minecraft will be out on Xbox One, PS4, and PS Vita on August - although the exact release date has not yet been announced. Games creator Mojang apologized to fans for the long wait but emphasized that creating games for consoles takes a lot of time and other resources to materialize.  Upgrades are also available for current Minecraft players at a discounted price.

"We're finally able to share news about Minecraft on Xbox One, Playstation 4, and Playstation Vita.  Apologies for the delay, but putting Minecraft on new consoles is a serious business. People have been using phrases like 'logistically-speaking,' 'infinite terrain,' and 'platform parity' for months now," creator Mojang said in a statement.

Minecraft's Xbox One version is sold at $19.99 at the Xbox Live Marketplace, while the upgrade from Xbox 360 is priced at $4.99.  The PS4 version is available at $19.99 at Playstation Network.  According to Mojang, players of the Xbox One version will be able to import saves from Xbox 360, but doing so from Xbox 360 is not possible.  The upcoming update should also give Minecraft fans less stress in expanding their worlds but shrinking it might cause some problems.

On the other hand, Mojang is currently working with Sony Computer Entertainment on how to produce Blue-ray discs of the game for the PS3 and PS Vita versions.  Many downloadable contents like skins and texture packs can be loaded in the Playstation 4 edition.  Fans will have to stay tune for more updates about Minecraft final release date and more features from Mojang.
