'Minecraft' New Game Release Date News, Details: 'Story Mode' to be Released by Telltale Games
'Minecraft' fans are ecstatic as news has just broke about an upcoming new stand-alone game that brings a story mode to the super popular sandbox game.
For those that may not know, the original award-winning 'Minecraft' game pits players in a fight against hunger, danger, and bad guys. Like, Lego-blocks, gamers can break and build homes and gather food through either creative or survival mode. The players create the game so everyone will have a unique, exciting experience.
However, starting in 2015, a new spin-off to the popular series will be driven by a narrative created by Telltale Games. While the story mode is still in development by 'Minecraft maker' Mojang, Telltale is releasing hints to how 'Minecraft: Story Mode' will play out.
The game will follow a new story that players decide upon, with original characters. There will not be zombies or other scary creatures, despite Telltale's experience creating the storyline for 'The Walking Dead', a zombie series.
On that note, gamers or parents of gamers can expect that 'Minecraft: Story Mode' will be age appropriate, and fun for the whole family.
Most importantly, the game will no longer feature "Steve", the lead character in the main series. In Mojang's blog, the developer explained that they did not want "an 'official' story for Steve". Instead, the game will be stand-alone, and it will not require players to own or even understand 'Minecraft' prior to purchasing 'Minecraft: Story Mode'.
Already, 'Minecraft' has made a big scene in retail, with its books, clothes, toys, and Lego sets sold all around the world. How will fans of this low-resolution software phenomenon feel about 'Minecraft' with a storyline? Until the new spin-off game is out for players to try, the 'Minecraft' community can only wait in anticipation.
