Minecraft 1.8 Update Release Date: Mojang Launches The Bountiful Update, Patch Notes, Changes & Bug Fixes
The Minecraft 1.8 update, which is also known as "The Bountiful Update," has been finally released.
This was confirmed by Mojang, the creators of Minecraft, on Tuesday September, 2.
The update was pre-released in three parts in August, but Tuesday marked to official complete release of "The Bountiful Update." In other words, now the update will download automatically and, thereby, push Minecraft into version 1.8.
Mojang has been working on the update for more than 300 days now, which has been the longest amount of time spend on a patch so far.
According to the developer, the update is a result of "many, many changes" comprising both new features, as well as large changes in the game's structure, such as changing the hard-coded "block renderer" and replacing them with a system that can read block shapes from data files, or performance enhancements like multi-threading the client-side chunk rendering.
