If that's Miley being Miley, then I don't want Miley.

If you watched the 2013 MTV VMAs, Miley Cyrus's double performance probably sticks out in your memory. Her performance of her new summer single "We Can't Stop" and duet with Robin Thicke on his breakout hit "Blurred Lines" is drawing quite a bit of attention from fans and celebrities alike.

Robin Thicke's mother, Gloria Loring told OMG!Insider: "I don't understand what Miley Cyrus is trying to do. I think she's misbegotten in this attempt of hers. And I think it was not beneficial." She added, "I didn't get what her point was. It was so over the top as to almost be a parody of itself."

And it wasn't just Thicke's mother who chimed in on Miley's twerk-tastic performance. Celebs shared their thoughts on Miley strutting her stuff on Twitter.

Country star Josh Gracin tweeted: "Thanks Miley Cyrus. Now I have to explain to my 11 yr old daughter why she no longer can follow your career."

Time magazine's TV critic tweeted, James Poniewozik:

"(J)ust watched that Miley Cyrus / teddy bear performance and I think I'm now legally required to put myself on some kind of registry."

However, not everyone in the industry thought it was an embarrassing performance.

Bill Werde, Billboard's Editorial Director thought Cyrus' performance was spot on for her fan base.

"Guys, Miley Cyrus is an all-star hot mess for a hot mess pop moment," Werde tweeted. "She doesn't care what u think & that's her brand. & she just delivered."
