Miley Cyrus Signs With Britney Spears' Manager Larry Rudolph
Miley Cyrus and Britney Spears now have two things in common. One, they were both discovered and transformed into Disney child stars. And now they both have the same manager. E! News reported Tuesday that Miley Cyrus just signed with Spears' longtime manager Larry Rudolph.
Tish, Miley's mom, will still continue as co-manager. However Cyrus dd cut ties completely from former manager, Jason Morey last February.
Rudolph helped transform Disney pop-tart queen Spears into an international icon. They had been working together since 1999 but split in 2007. A year later the two reunited. Rudolph was pivotal in Spears' comeback in 2008 with "Circus".
According to Billboard, Cyrus will be releasing a new album in late 2013. The former Hannah Montana star signed with RCA records in January. The disappointing results after Cyrus's 2010 release "Can't Be Tamed" are cited as strong motivation for the artists' regime change. Cyrus, Rudolph, and certainly RCA are hoping the next record can improve on the meager 343,000 copies sold in the U.S. from "Can't Be Tamed".
Working closely with Cyrus on the upcoming project, Producer Ernest "Tuo" Clark of Das Internz told MTV News about Cyrus' new direction.
"I can say it's definitely going to shock a lot of people; definitely grown up," Tuo told MTV News of the upcoming album. "It's natural; it's not her trying to do like pop, four on the floor. What she did was, I just feel like, was different and needed in the game and, then, for her a huge 'wow' factor."
We'll see if the singer can make a lasting mark in the industry or just be another sex-exploited ex-child star.
