Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Movie Reboot Cast: Chloe Grace Moretz as Pink Ranger?

Lionsgate officially announced that the "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers' reboot is a go, and with it speculation of who will be cast as part of the 5-person team has come flying in. Actors such as Tom Hiddleston, Taylor Lautner, Liam Hemsworth, Jack Gleeson, and Chloe Grace Moretz are now being linked to the film.

The studio revealed its plans for the reboot to the 1990's children's action-adventure show.

"With an extensive and extremely devoted worldwide fan base as well as a deep and detailed mythology, the Power Rangers are primed for the big screen. Lionsgate also added that the movie will reinterpret the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers as a group of high school kids who are infused with unique and super cool powers but must harness and use those powers as a team if they have any hope of saving the world." the studio disclosed.

Lautner, Hemsworth, and Hiddleston are now rumored to play the Red Ranger role. Those who are familiar with the Power Rangers can recall that the Red Ranger is the leader of the group, and casting the Red Ranger will definitely be a task that requires a lot of consideration. Fan forums are pulling for Lautner, who has the charisma, as well as the advantage of being a martial arts expert even before he was cast in the "Twilight' movies.

Meanwhile, Moretz is reportedly on board to play the role of the Pink Ranger. MTV news reports that Moretz has definitely accepted the role and is excited to be one of the Power Rangers.

Fans are also wondering if any of the original cast members will be in the film. As of this writing, the only cast member of the original series who has been actively doing TV or film work is Amy Jo Johnson, who played the original Pink Ranger. Johnson is currently playing the role of Hayley Price in "Covert Affairs'.

The "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers' movie reboot is set to premiere in 2016.
