Microsoft Xbox One Revealed: Release Date, Price, Features / Xbox One or Playstation 4? Which 2013 Console Will You Buy? [VIDEO]
Microsoft unveiled the Xbox One, their latest foray in the next-gen gaming consoles. Microsoft's goal is to combine all of the boxes most American living room into one device...hence the name, Xbox One.
Features include a Blu-ray player, Wi-Fi connectivity, 8 GB of memory, and HDMI hookups. The Xbox can also be controlled with voice command. Tasks like switching from TV to music, or music to gaming can be navigated with only a few words.
Microsoft probably won't reveal the price of the new Xbox One until E3 2013, or possibly later, but expect something in the $399/$499 price range.
Though Microsoft's demonstration today was impressive, it's obvious the company has some catching up to do. Ever since the tablet boom years ago, console companies can't rely on loyalty to sell gaming systems. There are just too many options on devices a lot of people already own.
Microsoft is relying on their upcoming game lineup to do a lot of heavy lifting.
Though it will be simultaneously released on the Playstation 4, Call of Duty: Ghost is expected to bring in a lot of potentially Xbox One buyers. Forza 5, along with the popular EA sports series' [Madden, NBA Live...etc] are also hype machines for the new consoles.
As for the specs, the Xbox One boast an 8-core CPU, 500 GB storage drive, and a USB 3.0 port. The new Xbox Kinect now has a 1080p camera as well.
The new Xbox One controller also supports Wi_Fi, more responsive triggers and a new directional pad.
Will you be buying a new 2013 console? If so will it be the Xbox One or PS3?
