Microsoft Confirms "Small Number" of Xbox One Consoles Defective After Experiencing "Red Ring of Death."

The "red ring of death" is back and it's ruining Christmas!

Only days after its November 22nd release date, some Xbox One users are already experiencing console glitches rendering their new Microsoft gaming console useless. The tech giant, in the midst of console war with the new Sony PlayStation 4, has confirmed that a relative small percentage of new Xbox Ones have experienced a strange clicking noise leaving the console unable to read the CD, thus making it impossible to play games.

Fans remember the "red ring of death" back in 2005, when Microsoft rushed the Xbox 360 out to retailers leaving close to 68% of sold consoles out of order.

However, some One owners are looking on the bright side.

"I understand these things happen, but it sucks when they happen to you," said Donald Blankinship after purchasing a defective unit at Best Buy. "I can still play downloadable games until the replacement arrives, so at least there's that."

As for solutions, Microsoft is encouraging buyers to send back their useless consoles back to the company for immediate repair.

"We're working directly with those affected to get a replacement console to them as soon as possible through our advance exchange program," Microsoft recently said in a statement. "Customers have the option for us to send a replacement console right away without waiting until they have returned their old one."
