In 2014, Microsoft had rolled out the Lumia Denim update along with other features. Now, after only four months, the company has announced a new update for all Windows 8.1 mobile devices.

The Lumia Denim update includes many options like an improved Cortana and the ability to chat with her in your car via car-kit integration. This digital assistant is available for now in the US, China, the UK in "beta" version and in "alpha" in Australia, Canada, India, France, Italy, Germany and Spain.

There are significant improvements: 4K video recording with the option to shot at 24fps, a faster capture and other features for the new camera app like the fact that users can shoot a picture only by tapping and holding the camera shutter even if the phone is asleep. Keep in mind that these features are only for Lumia 930 or 1520.

There is also a new Glance screen that will show updates from Bing on Weather, Health and Fitness. Live images (a one second animation with the best still put in the end) are included also and there is Rich Capture, a feature which lets you turn the flash on or off in order to take the best photo.

Even when the new Lumia update has rolled out, unfortunately it is not available for all users. Depending on the device and location, users can get access to the new features.
