This afternoon, afternoon 13 seed Delaware Blue Hens will face the Michigan State Spartans. The Spartans are the very team that President Barack Obama picked to win the entire NCAA Tournament when he recently revealed his NCAA bracket. In addition, The Spartans recently won the Big Ten Tournament championship after they defeated the Michigan Wolverines by the final score of 69-55 on March 16. Previously, Michigan State Spartans head coach Tom Izzo's squad dealt with a lot of key players missing playing time including Branden Dawson. Dawson recently returned from injury due to a broken right hand after missing 9 games. Dawson was crowned the 2014 Most Valuable player at the Big Ten tournament.
"I thought we got some of our identity back," said Spartans head coach Izzo to reporters. "And that's what you need if you're going to make a run of any kind in the tournament."
The Delaware Blue Hens are looking to upset the Spartans this afternoon. The Blue Hens are currently the Colonial Athletic Association conference champions after they defeated the William & Mary Tribe by the final score of 75-74 on March 10. The Blue Hens head coach Monte Ross gave his team some advice before today's game.
"I just told the guys, if we are able to play the way I expect us to play, I'll probably get a call from Warren Buffett, because he'll be the happiest person in the world," said Ross to reporters. "We'll break up everybody's bracket and there will be no billion-dollar payout."
