Michael Schumacher Condition Latest Update: News Claims Formula 1 Legend May Receive New Microchip Technology?

Legendary F1 racer Michael Schumacher has been out of his coma since June, but the Formula One superstar still has a long road to recovery as he tries achieve substantial rehabilitation, after his tragic skiing accident in December.

Reports last month said that the racecar driver has regained consciousness after being in an comatose state for more than six months. Schumacher has reportedly started responding to questions addressed to him by his family and caregivers by batting his eyelashes in response.

After he was moved from the University Hospital Center in Grenoble in which he was confined to for many months, the Mercedes-Benz racer was reportedly moved to a private clinic near their Lausanne home in Switzerland for the remainder of his recuperation.

According to reports, Schumacher's family has recently reached out to Dutch doctors for a prospective microchip implant that purportedly helps patients recovering from a prolonged coma to speed up recovery and potentially restore their ability to walk in a shortened amount of time. However, no follow up reports were done on this news as of yet.

Since the racecar driver's tragic accident in Meribel in France, December of last year, which required him to undergo neurosurgery twice, Schumacher's family has generally kept their silence on the former Ferrari driver's condition. His wife, Corinna, seldom made public appearances and has spent most of her time staying by Schumacher's bedside.

Meanwhile, Schumacher's employer, Mercedes-Benz, has recently stated that they will be standing by the legendary F1 driver's side and maintain support for him all throughout his long road to recovery.
