Michael Schumacher Condition Latest Update: Driving Legend Recovering Well Following Coma?
Recent reports say that racing legend Michael Schumacher is recovering well. The Formula 1 champion had been hospitalized after a severe injury to his head while skiing with his family in the French Alps resort of Meribel on December 29, 2013.
Nearly six months after the gruesome accident took place, Schumacher is now out of his coma. Sabine Kehm, the long time manager of Schumacher and the family's spokesperson, announced the news.
Initially fans were told that the coma was induced by the doctors of the University Hospital Center in Grenoble, where Schumacher was treated. Then conflicting reports were released stating that the racer was already in a coma long before he arrived at the facility.
In her first ever public comment since the accident, Corrina Schumacher, his wife, says the racer's condition is improving.
After his 170 days of hospitalization at Grenoble, Schumacher has now been moved to a rehabilitation clinic that specializes in special care for brain injuries, located in the Swiss city of Lausanne.
Sources say the F1 legend has lost about 45 pounds since the accident, but good news came in the form of a national World Cup victory; Lukas Podolski of team Germany vowed to win the title for Schumacher.
