Dove Award winning artist Michael O'Brien announces the release of his debut Christmas CD titled Christ'mas featuring thirteen songs that reflect on the holy birth of Christ.

O'Brien, who is best remembered as the former lead singer for the Christian group Newsong and whose voice was heard on the 2001 blockbuster cd "The Christmas Shoes," wanted to inspire audiences and lead them on the miraculous journey of the birth of Christ.

O'Brien titled this CD, Christ'mas, from the derivative of two words - "Christ" and "Mass" honoring the historical date of December 25 when the body of Christ would celebrate the birth of Christ with a church service. This project has become a legacy as an O'Brien family project with the O'Brien children featured in several songs and Michael's wife Heidi contributing as well.

In addition to performing and producing, O'Brien arranged or wrote the music for every song and shares his thoughts on these select tracks including This Christmas Night, With Us, The Story, Have Yourself a Blessed Little Christmas, An Irish Christmas,Gloria, The Faithful, Light of Israel, Joyful We Adore You, Go Tell It, To Bethlehem, All Praise to Thee, and Sweet Little Jesus Boy/a Great Light.

About the Artist:

Michael O'Brien is probably most known from his 7 year tenure as lead singer of the Christian band Newsong. But, he has actually been in the music ministry for some 20 years now and has built a reputation as an incredibly gifted singer/ songwriter with a heart for ministering to the body of Christ.

Sensing that God was calling him to step out of his secure position with Newsong in 2006, Michael had to literally start all over again. But if you ask him if he has any regrets in his leaving, he replies "I knew it was something that God was calling me to. I was somewhat apprehensive and yet excited to take a step of faith and completely put my trust in the Lord. God has not disappointed."

He continues to write, produce and record music with Christ'mas being his current release (2012). Throughout his career as a solo artist and with Newsong, Michael has been featured on countless national television and radio programs.
