Miami Heat NBA 2014 News, Rumors: First Win Against Timberwolves, Wade's Words Motivate Rookie Wiggins
After losing two games in a row, Miami turned up the Heat to pull in their first victory against the Minnesota Timberwolves by a score of 102 to 92 on Nov. 8. Beyond that, Miami's guard Dwyane Wade shared some veteran wisdom with rookie Andrew Wiggins recently.
The two had a great game previously and in their post-game interview, Wiggins revealed his conversation with his teammate Wade. "He asked me if I wanted to be great," Wiggins told ESPN, "I said yes. He said I've got all the tools to be great, just keep working."
Wiggins had some good stats in the game with 10 points with 3 of 9 field goals, 1 rebound and two assists. According to the number one draft pick player from the Cleveland Cavaliers, Wade was one of those he idolized. "Those words at the end of the game just motivate me. Already I'm thinking about what he said, and it's going to carry through for a long time now," Wiggins said.
"He's one of the people I watched growing up, one of the people I idolized. That guy right there is great," he added.
Meanwhile, the team, according to the Heat center Chris Bosh, is still adjusting to playing together since they have added several new members to the team. "We have guys who are used to playing on other teams," Bosh told the South Florida Sun-Sentinel.
"They still have those habits in their brain. With all the different calls, and all the different sets that we have, it takes time to gell. I'm glad that we got off to the good start. I think it was good for us to lose a couple games. Now, we can really look at what we need to fix," He added.
