'Metal Gear Solid 5: Phantom Pain' PS4, Xbox One Release Date Touted for Early 2015
It has been confirmed that the action-adventure stealth game 'Metal Gear Solid 5 Phantom Pain' will be released for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One sometime early in 2015. However, there is no official announcement regarding the game's availability across all platforms.
In the meantime, the game produced by Kojima has garnered plenty of positive feedback from gamers across the social media spectrum. Most of the positive reviews stemmed from the details and clarity of the game's graphics and the actions of the animals in the game. Check out the gameplay footage video below.
The game's developer Konami Digital Entertainment displayed 30-minutes of gameplay footage via IGN, showing the new graphics that run the game as well as the open world feel of the latest installment in the franchise.
The developers also revealed footage of the gameplay alongside an official trailer of the game. The trailer was shown at the recently concluded E3 2014.
While several gamers are impressed with the game's next generation graphics, MGS creator Hideo Kojima was seemed to be still unimpressed after seeing what Rockstar did to its 'Grand Theft Auto' franchise for the PS4 as well as other next gen consoles.
In a recent interview, Kojima said, "It's a bit different because Rockstar is going in a very different direction to what I'm trying to create," adding, "When we say we're an open-world game it makes it sound like it's trying to be the same as what those guys are creating. But this is very different - I'm trying to do a free infiltration game."
Kojima went on to explain, "What Rockstar has created and the world they have created is super impressive, and actually when I saw the PS4 version a few days ago I got depressed again.," he added, "and this is not game design-related it's just me. The quality that they showed in the PS4 trailer was really impressive."
