Metal Gear Solid 5 Ground Zeroes Release date: Pre-Order Exclusive Content Revealed (VIDEO)

Konami has revealed Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes pre-order bonuses and also announced actions performed in the prologue title will drastically impact the story of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.

Anyone who pre-orders Ground Zeroes will also receive additional content, including Mother Base Staff for use with the Mother Base in Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.

While introduced during the events of Ground Zeroes, the Mother Base is expected to play a key role in Phantom Pain. Konami has promised that the special Mother Base items acquired via pre-order will give gamers "a key advantage" when they begin playing Phantom Pain. The Mother Base will be a very important area where players can build new weapons and saving armaments.

In addition, it has been confirmed that a gamer's actions during Ground Zeroes will transferred onto your Phantom Pain save. For example, characters rescued will be available within The Phantom Pain game. Decisions made in the prologue game will also have serious consequences at the end of the The Phantom Pain game.

Finally, Konami has also revealed iDroid: an app available on iOS, Android and Smartglass systems that acts as a second game screen and unlocks brand new options for the player. In addition, it can display a map of the world or summon air support. It also provides access to rankings for mission success internationally.

iDroid will be compatible with both current and next-gen versions of the new Metal Gear Solid games, and it will also permit gamers to create the Mother Base.

Ground Zeroes is basically the prequel to Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. The full version of Metal Gear Solid V being split into two games has been explained by Kojima as being a result of the launch of PlayStation 4.

Konami has also revealed that the forthcoming prologue to Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain will run at 1080p on PS4, and 720p on Xbox One.

While the release date for Ground Zeroes was just recently revealed, Kojima has warned fans not to expect Phantom Pain to be released any time soon, since there it seems there still a lot of work that must to be done before it debuts in stores on March 18, 2014 in North America and on March 20, 2014 in Europe.
