Finally on last nights season finale of "How I Met Your Mother", Ted finally meets his future wife. 

I think I speak for everyone in saying, it's about time.  

We'd never seen her before, as some might have speculated.  But of course, people that watch the show regularly have expected it to be someone new because no one has been announced as "your mother" to this point.  

The Mother turned out to be a girl carrying a yellow umbrella and buying a ticket to Farhampton.

In real life, she's Cristin Milioti, of 'Once' stage fame. In the show, she is the woman of fate that Ted has been waiting for his whole life.

In last nights episode, Ted was the lowest we've ever seen him - heart still aching over Robin and Barney's nuptials and planning a low-key move and Ted is in major need of this meeting. 

The other storyline was with Lily and Marshall and their bit of drama of their own. While visiting his mom with Marvin, Marshall got a phone call that would change his life: He was being appointed a judge. The problem now was that they wanted him to start in one week, in person. By episode's end, Marshall still hadn't told Lily. Marshall does of course eventually becomes a judge, but we will have to see if Lily has to give up an opportunity of a lifetime to make it happen. 

So that is where "How I Met Your Mother" ends for this season. The final season will be coming up this fall and hopefully connecting all the loose ends.
