How I Met Your Mother will be airing its eighth installment to season 9 tonight on CBS. Tonight's episode we can expect the Mother to come back to the screen.

Here's a brief synopsis of tonight's episode:

"When Robin and Loretta's conflict escalates, Barney is caught in the middle. Meanwhile, Marshall and Daphne deal with a stowaway on their road trip, and Ted and Cassie try to enjoy a trip to a lighthouse. Frances Conroy returns as Barney's mother, Loretta, and Anna Camp guest stars as Cassie, Ted's weekend date."

We've been promised by TV Guide that Cristin Milioti's mother will be retuning and fans will see Ted and the Mother together during a flash-forward that holds a deep significance to the show, possibly a proposal.

At the wedding, Ted is forced to deal with Cassie, a girl who Ted recently hooked up with from a list of prospects that Barney and Robin put together back in episode 6. Ted has had his run-ins with Cassie on episode 7 where he finally managed to escape her, but she'll be back in tonight's episode.

How I Met Your Mother will air tonight at 8 PM only on CBS and can be viewed via free live stream online.
