On Tuesday, Meredith Andrews left the hospital with her brand new son, Remington Ezra Sooter - or "Remy," as he has been affectionately dubbed.

Though mom and baby are healthy and happy now following Remy's birth on Sunday, the whole experience wasn't without surprise: The newest Sooter was actually born on the bathroom floor of the couple's Chicago home.

Jacob Sooter, Andrews' husband, took to Twitter (@jacobsooter) to explain the "scariest and most beautiful 5 minutes" of his life:

I just delivered my son, on the floor of our bathroom... Remington Ezra Sooter born in a blaze of glory... Mom and baby are perfect. :)

In responses to everyone's questions... 1.) No it was surely not planned that way and 2.) We are so abundantly happy and healthy...

Meredith confirmed the unconventional delivery through her own Twitter account (@MereMusic) on Monday:

For anyone who missed it, ?@jacobsooter delivered our son in our bathroom last night. Unintentional but miraculous home birth.

Earlier this month, we chatted with Andrews about her new album, Worth It All, and how she plans to juggle music with her expanding family. She's taken a few weeks off in February, she explained, but she'll be back on the road in mid-March, performing for her fans.

The Spring and the Fall are shaping up to be pretty busy," she said in the interview. "I'm really excited to get back out there, especially with these new songs."
