Megan Fox Dyes Hair Red For 'Ninja Turtles' Role April O'Neil [PHOTOS]
Michael Bay's upcoming Ninja Turtles movie will feature Megan Fox (Transformers) as April O'Neil. Any doubt people may have had for the 26-year old actress' commitment, recently turned mom, went out the window when Fox revealed her newly dyed red hair. Will Arnett was also announced alongside the Turtles themselves: Pete Ploszek, Jeremy Howard, Noel Fisher and Alan Ritchson.
The fact that Michael Bay chose Megan Fox for the April O'Neil reboot may surprise some. Fox who worked with Bay on the first two Transformers movies was not brought back for the third because of "personal differences." Bay, who is notorious for overblown special FX and CGI, may have rubbed Fox the wrong way on set.
Megan even went so far as to say Bay, "wants to be like Hitler on his sets, and he is. So, he's a nightmare to work for."
Regardless, Bay and Fox seem to have put their differences aside. Bay recently posted on his website:
"TMNT: we are bringing Megan Fox back into the family!"
Fox wasn't the only actress considered for the April O'Neil character. Anna Kendrick (Up In The Air), Jane Levy (Suburgatory) and Elizabeth Olson were also TMNT candidates. Instead the studio went with Megan Fox who signed on after seeing rough storyboards from Bay-collaborator Jonathan Liebesman (Wrath of the Titans).
The original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles comic masterminds Peter Laird and Kevin Eastman created April O'Neil as a computer programmer but the movie will probably choose to make Fox's character a news reported thanks to the success of the television version.
