Matthew West Records Kansas City Royals Theme Song Based off Lorde's Big Hit [LISTEN HERE]
Christian CCM artist Matthew West is showing Kansas City pride with his new anthem song for the World Series bond Royals.
West used Lorde's song "Royals" as a backdrop for his own song in a playful parody cover.
The singer debuted his version of "Royals" on Christian radio station Life 88.5 last Friday.
"We will always be Royals/This is more than just a game
Royal-blue running through our veins
KC let me hear you say, We will always be Royals"
Other words to the song address different players on the time, certain season scenarios, and praise for the coach and fans.

The Kansas City Royals will begin their quest to win the World Series today as they square off against the San Francisco Giants. The Royals have taken the hearts of Americans by storm as they have proved to be the underdog since the beginning of the season. They have swept through the playoffs with eight consecutive wins as they have taken down seemingly more formidable teams.
West continues to be one of the more well known songwriters in Christian music, and won several K-LOVE Fan Awards earlier this year.
