'Mass Effect: Andromeda' News: No Update Yet On Sequel Release Date, But Save Your Files Just In Case

Creative director Mac Walters sat down with Game Informer and shared some news on "Mass Effect: Andromeda." And one of the suggestions he offered was for players to always save their files.

"Right now, to be honest, we are focused on this game, and as I've said to people before, we very much think of Andromeda as a series," he said. "What we do with that series is TBD at this point. I think right now, we know we don't want it to be a trilogy, in the sense of, we're planning this three-part story in three games."

If there's no news on the "Mass Effect: Andromeda" sequel then no harm done. But if there's going to be another follow-up, he said, the Pathfinders and the Ryders "are going to make another reappearance in the next game."

Walters shared other news on "Mass Effect: Andromeda" such as the side quests being cut to the minimum, and only if they are integral to the overall mission. He said they learned a lot from "Dragon Age: Inquisition" which, although a very good game, suffers from too many distractions.

For instance, GamesRadar noted that if the mission involves two gang factions, the side quest might involve you going undercover to infiltrate the gang's lair.

In "Andromeda," the Ryders are basically novices who may be way over their heads as they explore alien planets. Unlike Shepard who was a hero from the very start, your choices will determine if Scott or Sarah would end up as a hero or heel.

Watch out for more "Mass Effect: Andromeda" news, which will be published here when they come along.
