BioWare's latest addition to the Mass Effect universe, Mass Effect 4, is now listed on Amazon for pre-orders. Its expected to release on December 31, 2014 for Playstation 4 and Xbox One consoles. However, the PC version might be facing further delays since no official announcement from the game developers was made.

Mass Effect 4 on Amazon lacks the original game art on the box with only a plain black background plus the name of the game. Pre-orders can be made online through Amazon UK for the following prices: PC ($68), Playstation 4 ($110), and Xbox One ($110). According to BioWare, delay of release for the PC versions is direct result of piracy.

Good news for fans, Mass Effect 4 is likely to recieve Oculus Rift support which is currently under development. The said upgrade will place Mass Effect 4 on a whole new level when compared to other titles. IB Times reported that Andrew Wilson, CEO at EA, said he liked Oculus Rift's VR program particularly because it promises a massive evolution in the gaming industry.

In the recently concluded E3 2014 at Los Angeles, California, BioWare showcased brand new storyline and characters for Mass Effect 4. This includes a fresh protagonist that deviates from the old version of Commander Shepard, Eurogamer wrote.

Executive producer Casey Hudson and BioWare Edmonton and Montreal Chief Aaryn Flynn teased Mass Effect 4's gameplay in a previous Twitter post.

"What's even more fun than working on the design of a new fictional world? Taking our first steps into it and looking around," Hudson said. Flynn described the game as "ambitious, beautiful, fresh but recognizable and full of fun."
