'Mass Effect 4' Release Date: BioWare Silent on Launch, Rumors Hint at Aliens Plot
While there is very little information regarding the release of the fourth installment of the third-person shooter game 'Mass Effect 4', BioWare actually teased the fans with some details at the 2014 San Diego Comic Con in July.
BioWare disclosed that the next installment in the 'Mass Effect' franchise will have an indirect storyline connection to the past 'Mass Effect' titles starting from the original 2007 game.
Beyond that, no more information regarding the title's gameplay or story has been revealed.
However, on Sept. 10, 'Mass Effect' producer Michael Gamble posted on Twitter a new detail regarding the upcoming game, saying, "I've never seen salarians look so damn good."
This, in fact, is a clear reference to the possible improvements made by the developers since the trilogy was released. In effect, 'Mass Effect 3' was released for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Wii U on March 6, 2012.
The "Salarians" is among the three confirmed races that BioWare has included in the new 'Mass Effect' installment, alongside the Krogans and Humans.
Apart from the Twitter post, there are speculations regarding the upcoming game saying that several alien races, like the Turian and the Asari, are also coming back. 'Mass Effect 3' players saw these races survive the Reapers' harvesting when they activated the Crucible option.
A report by IBTimes also speculated that other non-human characters can be nominated to join the upcoming 'Mass Effect 4' game, for instance the Qurian Tali'Zorah nar Rayya, Drell Thane Krios, in addition to the Salarian Mordin Solus.
Precisely speaking, the 'Mass Effect' Trilogy is a sci-fi role playing shooter game dealing with the mission of Commander Shepard to save the galaxy from different mechanical characters known as the Reapers, particularly the vicious Sarem Arterius.
Meanwhile, a report in the Examiner stated that the "Mass Effect Trilogy" will be re-released for PS3 and Xbox 360. The new version will feature the improvements over the technical problems that the game contained in the past.
Moreover, it may be noted that Amazon U.K. has posted that the upcoming 'Mass Effect 4' will be released with PS4 and Xbox One editions in October 2015. However, BioWare has yet to confirm this information.
