Marvin McQuitty Passes Away, Artists Pay Tribute, Memorial Service to be Held September 17

The world lost one of the most popular drummer in Contemporary Gospel music. On September 11, 2012, Marvin McQuitty returned to be with the Lord after an illness.

Marvin McQuitty's talent and ability to play multiple styles allowed him to become a solid and a trend setting drummer.

During his career, he worked with almost every major contemporary gospel artist such as Israel & New Breed, Kirk Franklin, Ben Tankard, Mary Mary, Donnie McClurkin, Bryon Cage, Dorinda Clark Cole, Marvin Sapp, Kim Burrell,  Dottie Peoples, Kieara Sheard,  Fred Hammond, Hezekiah Walker, to name a few.

His ability to play versatile styles placed him in high demand. Marvin McQuitty also worked with artists from mainstream like Stevie Wonder, or Jessica Simpson, among others.

Christian artists paid tribute to Marvin McQuitty and his personality that was an inspiration to many.
