The highly anticipated Season 2 of 'Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.', based on Marvel Comics, premieres at 9.00 pm ET on Tuesday, Sept. 23, on ABC.

In the second season of the popular television series fans will the newly appointed director Agent Phil Coulson leading his team to reconstruct a corruption-free S.H.I.E.L.D. and continue their battle against the evil HYDRA. The first episode of Season 2 of the show has been titled "Shadows."

Episode 1 of 'Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.' is expected to be an action-filled explosion. Fans will see many main cast members, including Clark Gregg as Phil Coulson, Ming Na Wen as Melinda May, Chloe Bennet as Skye, Brett Dalton as Grant Ward and others, returning to the show in this episode.

An official synopsis of Episode 1 Season 2 released by ABC teases exciting spoilers. Latest reports in via media state that the agents are "now wanted fugitives" and are being hunted by their enemies. Although the team is struggling to survive "with limited resources," even such adverse situations do not prevent them from going after their objective of protecting the world from "powerful and unseen threats."

In Season 1, fans witnessed the way in which the most trusted members of the S.H.I.E.L.D. betrayed Phil Coulson, thereby resulting in the destruction of the organization. It is reported that the new season will introduce some new agents. However, it is not yet known whether or not these new agents will be reliable or not.

In "Shadows," fans will meet a new agent named Lance Hunter (Nick Blood). According to ABC, Hunter is a "dashing mercenary sharp shooter with a quick wit." In addition, fans will also see a number of other new faces, including Lucy Lawless as Isabelle Hartley, Reed Diamond as Daniel Whitehall, Hayley Atwell as Peggy Carter, Brian Patrick as Carl Creel and Simon Kassianides as Sunil Bakshi.

On the other hand, Adrian Pasdar as Glenn Talbot, Henry Simmons as Mack, B.J. Britt as Antoine Triplett, and Patton Oswalt as Agent Billy Koenig will be seen as guest actors during the Season 2 Premiere.
