Marvel New Movie News, Rumors: 'Howard The Duck' Will Make a Comeback through CGI?

For months now fans have all speculated that the titular character, 'Howard The Duck' would star in a remake film, or at the very least become a reoccurring character in the MCU. Some recent words from George Lucas would have us all believe this to be a strong possibility.

The 1986 'Howard The Duck' unfortunately fell short during the time of its release.

"You can't put a dwarf in a duck suit and make it work," Lucas stated in an interview with Stephen Colbert, "I have a feeling that Marvel is gonna redo it because of the technology we have today."

The end credits scene in 'Guardians of the Galaxy' was a slight nod to this with the feature of the character in CGI. Despite the characters datedness, it was received very well by man viewers.

A new line of 'Howard The Duck' comic books were spawned from the character's revived popularity. This still doesn't allow the character to be squeezed into Marvel's movie plans.

"Marvel already has a busy slate on the docket for Phase 3. After Avengers: Age of Ultron and Ant-Man, Captain America: Civil War will herald in the arrivals of solo films for Doctor Strange, Black Panther, Captain Marvel, and The Inhumans, all leading up to the two-part Avengers: Infinity War. A film for Howard the Duck, of all characters, doesn't fit into this universe so well. But perhaps afterwards, when the hype of the MCU has concluded, this could be a possibility," writes Cinema Blend.
