Mario Kart 8 Release Date: Wii U Version Set for May 30

Nintendo has just released the track list for its forthcoming game Mario Kart 8 Wii U, and fans will be delighted to hear that it is set to feature 32 tracks.

According to the Japanese game developer, the new game will be released on May 30, and users in Japan, North America, Europe, Brazil and Australia can get geared up to battle all the known characters from the universe of Mario.

The track list reveals that Mario Kart 8 Wii U will have 32 tracks, and of those16 will be remixed courses, while the remaining 16 will be brand new tracks.

The game will also have eight cups, each with its own four circuits.

The game is expected to attract veteran as well as rookie players, who will enjoy checking out karting and experience the thrill of the race. The game features gravity-defying speeds, in addition to vertical or upside down racing on many of the tracks.

In fact, the new game offers the players the opportunity to play time trials, match modes and grand prix races.

Last month, Nintendo announced some additional features of the new game, which includes in-game items and anti-gravity racing abilities.

During the round table discussion at the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco last month, Nintendo game developer Hideki Konno said, "This is the eighth game in the series, and when we work on a Mario Kart title, we work on courses and we create them, and then we work on them again, and again, and again, and we revise until we come up with something that we think is going to be fun for everyone to play over and over again. So we have a lot of confidence in our ability to do so, but we understand what a tough challenge it is to create those courses."
